Differential Diagnosis

• Epidermal inclusion cyst • Ganglion cyst • Giant cell tumor of tendon sheath • Gout (tophus)

Key Learnings

• Also called myxoid pseudocyst or digital mucous cyst • Translucent, dome-shaped, fluctuant nodule on dorsal distal finger near nail • Contains viscous, jelly-like mucinous material • Associated with osteoarthritis (DIP joint) • Can cause longitudinal nail grooving by compressing nail matrix • Not a true cyst (no epithelial lining)
