Acral melanoma, a rare form of melanoma, primarily arises on the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, and under the nails. It is notably different from other types of melanoma, which are often associated with UV exposure and arise on sun-exposed areas. The unique characteristics of acral melanoma pose specific challenges in diagnosis and treatment, warranting a deeper understanding among skincare professionals and dermatologists. Diagnostic Challenges The diagnosis of acral melanoma is often delayed due to its atypical presentation.
