Stanford research fellowship
Applications are being accepted for a 1-2 yr dermatology fellowship position for PGY-2 trainees starting July 1, 2009. Applicants should have graduated from a United States medical school and have an interest in academic dermatology as it relates to inflammation and autoimmunity. It is preferred that the applicant have at least one year of training in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or Transitional Medicine. Experience in clinical trials is preferred, but not required.
The fellow will take a leadership role in a weekly, multidisciplinary rheumatology-dermatology clinic and a related prospective clinical and tissue database project. The latter project will yield extensive opportunity for publication. The applicant will also function as the primary medical doctor/evaluator for various clinical trials pertaining to inflammatory skin diseases, including psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, cutaneous lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis and lichen planus.
The trainee will be encouraged to attend weekly departmental didactic lecture sessions as well as Grand Rounds conferences. Attendance at the AAD annual meeting (or other appropriate conference) is encouraged. The applicant will be encouraged to participate in scholarly activities, including drafting manuscripts for publication and presenting work at local or national conferences.
